What is an Irrational number? 

  • Numbers which are not rational are irrational
  • An irrational number is a number that cannot be described in the form of p/q
  • Numbers that cannot be written as a ratio of two integers are called Irrational
  • It is denoted by P

Irrational number Examples 

  • *π = 22/ 7, = 3.1428571428571…
  • It is an approximation, that is close but not accurate.
  • Hence it is an irrational number.
